Talking about toners, how important are they really? I am also not a fan of toners not until I found this product. Read this Etude House Soon Jung PH 5.5 Relief Toner Review and find out why it has been the best toner out there!
How important are toners in skincare?
If you have been skipping toners, then it could either be because your skin is better without it or you’re still lost on believing whether it is effective or not. Hence, you might be missing out on the benefits of a toner.
“Toners remove leftovers from your skin”
Undoubtedly, toners are there to remove dirt from your skin that you didn’t get from your cleansers. Also, if you are a fan of serums, then a good toner is the way to prepare your skin before indulging in your serum concentration.
“Toners restore the skin’s pH balance”
A well-balanced pH level skin makes a huge difference. Moreover, did you know that our skin is leaning more to the acidic side? That is to protect your skin from free radicals and harmful microbes. Therefore, a good balancing toner results to calm and soothing skin.

How To Use
There are two ways to apply this toner, it could be with a cotton pad or with your hands. Firstly, grab a cotton pad and apply a sufficient amount of toner then rub it across your skin gently. Make sure that you soak the cotton pad with toner or else it will dry out quickly. You can do the same for your neck, but make sure to not apply the used cotton pad again in the face.
Secondly, is to apply toner is with your hands. Make sure your hands are clean first and apply a sufficient amount of toner to your palms. Since this is a pH-balancing toner, then it is best to apply with a dry face. You can apply it through tapping motions since liquid-based products absorb quicker in this technique.

What I Like About The ETUDE HOUSE Soon Jung PH 5.5 Relief Toner
I like how simple this toner is for someone who has combination skin. Not gonna lie, I am not a fan of toners and if I find something that suits my picky skin, then I’ll likely use it forever. Nevertheless, this toner has proved that it is worth the try. Here are the things that I observed while using this toner:
Perfectly Neutral
If your skin is sensitive to toners, it could be hard to find products that will suit your skin. With this pH 5.5 Relief Toner, it doesn’t irritate most skin since it is free from potential irritants such as:
- fragrance
- artificial color
- parabens
Great Prepping Base
If you like to layer your skin with serums or greatly enrich moisturizers, well this is it. I find this toner to absorb products easily and faster. I also compared using my moisturizer with and without toner and I find it best to use this toner before using my moisturizer.
Relief Toner
From its product name, this toner is indeed a relief toner. This toner is best when you are dealing with redness from summer heat since this toner relieves skin.
What I Dislike About The ETUDE HOUSE Soon Jung PH 5.5 Relief Toner
Before starting out with the negatives, I would like to say that all of these are based on my experience and it could be different to you or to the experience of others. This is one of the best toners I have tried and I honestly tried so hard to think of what I don’t like about this product. Below are the things I observed:
No extra benefits
If we are going to talk about toners, then their main job is to tone and balance your skin, as well as cleanse the remaining impurities. This toner does its job PERFECTLY but it doesn’t have any additional hydration or so. If you are looking for a toner that will level up your skin then this might not be it. However, if you are just looking for a well-balanced toner then this is worth the try.
Conclusion
Rating: 5/5
In conclusion, I do recommend this product especially to dry and sensitive skin people. It is easy and simple, with no harsh ingredients and complications that make it a great toner. There is no problem with the packaging for me or the price and size since I think that it is worth its price.
